Debbies Ice Box Cookies

Total Time: 22 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 7 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 4 cups plain flour, sifted twice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 1/4 cups pecans, almonds or 1 1/4 cups walnuts, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 cream butter and sugars. add eggs, vanilla and almond extract. mix well.
  • 2 sift together dry ingredients. add to butter mixture.
  • 3 stir in pecans or desired nuts.
  • 4 shape dough in log. wrap with plastic wrap. refrigerate for 4-8 hours.
  • 5 slice into half inch slices or less.
  • 6 place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 7 bake 375 degrees for 7 minutes.
  • 8 note: dough may be frozen for up to 3 months. slice while frozen and bake.
