Delicious Caramel Squares

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 cup sifted flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 pinch salt
• 1 1/3 cups nuts

Recipe

• 1 set oven at 350 degrees.
• 2 grease a 9 x 9 pan.
• 3 put butter and sugar in saucepan and stir over heat until very smooth.
• 4 cool.
• 5 add unbeaten egg.
• 6 sift in flour, baking powder and salt.
• 7 add vanilla.
• 8 mix well until smooth.
• 9 bake 30-40 minutes.
• 10 cut into squares.
• 11 makes about 36 small cookie squares.
